Hope you're ready for this...
The San Francisco Ferry Building, aka heaven on earth. If you're local, this is not new news. However, you also know the nightmare it can turn into on weekends (specifically Saturdays during the farmer's market). Weekdays make for more manageable crowds but often forgotten.
Here's your hit list, hope you're hungry. Grab some coffee at Blue Bottle to gear up, then mix and match as you please.
- Hog Island Oyster Co. Go crazy on oysters, seafood stew with grilled bread, and a crisp glass of white.
- Cowgirl Creamery. Set up a tasting ahead of time and nosh on cheese toasties from Sidekick, with caramelized onions and maple mustard.
- Boulibar. Mediterranean meets Japanese. Mezze, seafood miso soup and pizza, please.
- Miette (chocolates, macarons, candies) or Humphry Slocombe (secret breakfast) for a little something sweet.
Walk to the back of the building, towards the water, and find a spot. Grab that blanket from your bag, embrace the breeze (yes, by now full blown wind) and settle in to watch the water as the sun heads down. Sit back, enjoy, get reflective. Or just Instagram the sh*t out of it. You do you.
If you're not ready to call it a night, walk down to Hard Water for some whiskey goodness.
Then it's time to call it a day. After all, you do have work tomorrow.
